Lagoon Forever (LPS) is a coalition of citizens, scientists, social and environmental
organizations and traditional communities, located at the City of Niterói (video), State
of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

LPS works to protect Piratininga and Itaipu Lagoons watershed environment (known as "Oceanic Region" - Região Oceânica), as well as the social and historical heritage.
Our priority right now is to fight against a powerful and bizarre alliance between big real state corporations and the Mayor of Niterói, Rodrigo Neves.
They aim to remove lands from the Serra da Tiririca State Park (PESET) and donate for private developments (210 buildings).
The development will destroy several habitats, such as wetlands, mangroves and restinga vegetation around Itaipu Lagoon, as well as damaging forever the most valuable water front of our city.
PESET is Mata Atlântica Biosphere Reserve portion. More than 350,000 people visit the park every year. PESET belongs to Brazil and the world history. Charles Darwin crossed Serra da Tiririca (Tiririca range) in 1872.
